Help! Love, MOM

Hi there Help! Love, MOM tribe. I’m in the process of rebranding.

Growing Somewhere: Faith, Family and Finances will be a blog that makes a positive difference in your faith, family and finances!

I’ll still create content and provide resources for “unseen” moms. However, going forward I’ll write about and for moms and dads in terms of faith and finances, two of the most important areas in life.

For example, it can appear that men and dads are not wanted or welcomed in the traditionally female space of, especially, early elementary school.

I remember the experience of a dear friend. “G” was an exemplary dad who raised a young family member as his son.

However, at every report card, and in other ways, he reported opposition to receive any school – related documents or to have school-related conversations with his son’s teachers and other school staff. They wanted to speak to the non-custodial mom before talking to him.

This happened although the appropriate officials had the correct documents verifying my friend’s legal custody and guardianship of the youngster.

It was abundantly clear to me that “G” often left school frustrated and angry at the unnecessary challenges to his parental right to information and access. It seemed as if the school officials were challenging the quality of his parenting.

Then there’s my other friend, who, after reading the first iteration of this blog, encouraged me to include dads saying, “We feel unseen, too.”

Friend, whether you are a mom or a dad, I want this blog to make a difference in the critical areas of your family life mainly faith and finances.
