Housing in big cities in America, and therefore, homelessness, is a huge issue in New York City. According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) 2023 Annual Homelessness Assessment Report (AHAR) to Congress more than half of all people experiencing homelessness in the country were in just four states.
In order those states are : California, New York, Florida and Washington.
The only state with more homelessness than New York is California!
It is widely known and accepted that secure, safe, affordable housing is basic to an individual’s and a family’s physical and mental health, wealth and general flourishing.
You provide your faith, family and finances a safe and secure place from which to “grow somewhere” when you know where you will sleep that night and the next.
Register for an NYC Housing Connect account if you want to enter the housing lottery for any of the homes you see on the open lottery page. Do share the link (or this blog) with someone else who’s looking.
