How is your job these days? Mine is hectic, busy, and overwhelming.

We took on additional duties last year. This year, some of our team members left for other employment, so the remaining workers are now expected to fulfill more with fewer people.
Recently, the verse of the day landed on a day when I really needed to hear it:
“Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” (Psalm 55:22)
If your plate is overflowing too, here are a few things that help me stay steady:
Pause for a breath. Step away for a brief one-minute prayer or silent reflection in the middle of a heavy afternoon. I have an alarm set for 1:30 p.m. It’s my “office hour” with the Lord.
Write it down. Keep a verse on a small card at your desk, or set one as your phone’s lock screen for a quick reset during a tense moment. I keep scriptures on index cards at my desk, and a glance at one can change the tone of a hard hour.
Reframe the day. Remind yourself that your worth and identity are separate from your output or your employer’s demands. You are more than your to-do list.
How to face a tough boss. One – be prepared with your work completed or come with credible reasons why it is not and solutions to get it done.
Two – lean into scriptures like this one: The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1

The work may not lighten right away, but we don’t have to carry it alone. Whatever your week looks like, I hope you’ll take a moment to cast your cares on Him.
How do you find peace in a busy workday? I’d love to hear in the comments.
Blessings!
Kimberly
