A Haitian – born lawyer once told me, “What you see on the news is not all there is to Haiti.”
With that simple and eloquent statement I began to consume news differently, particularly news about Haiti.
Her words began to open my mind and understanding about Haiti being a place that the news does not always position well or capture correctly.
I have put together a few resources about Haiti that show you some of the events that your local evening news will tend not to show.
I love Haiti. I also feel a deep obligation to stand with suffering people every where. I remember distinctly the people who have stood with me in my challenging times.
I can do no less.
