Spirit-Filled, Praying Leaders NEEDED NOW

I heard an amazing preached message by a woman. In case you don’t believe in female preachers, this might be your stop.

Minister Michelle Allen makes the case that prayer and spiritual leadership are necessary partners.

She goes on to say that a praying church is a powerful church and partially quotes British-born Evangelist Leonard Ravenhill:

No man is greater than his prayer life. The pastor who is not praying is playing; the people who are not praying are straying. We have many organizers, but few agonizers; many players and payers, few pray-ers; many singers, few clingers; lots of pastors, few wrestlers; many fears, few tears; much fashion, little passion; many interferers, few intercessors; many writers, but few fighters.

Failing here, we fail everywhere.

The message makes many leader – focused comments because, in its context, it was delivered at a pastor’s appreciation service.

However these comments easily and necessarily transfer to any Christian believer. The minister makes the point that we leaders need to be Spirit-filled and Spirit-led leaders with, at minimum, an “altar” and a prayer closet representing our prayer life.

Minister Allen says and I heartily agree that the power we need to successfully live a vibrant and growing Christian life is received and cultivated in prayer.

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. Colossians 4:2

..And pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. James 5:16

To which all I can add is – AMEN!
The message starts at 2:10:25 the part about praying pastors at 2:15:14

Blessings!
